Text Banking

TFCU makes it easy to stay informed and connected to your accounts with real-time text alerts. You can now receive your account balances in a FREE & convenient way by texting TFCU at 46247!

Your cell phone does not have to be internet capable to be able to use Text Banking. If you can send and receive text messages, this is the service for you.


With Text Banking you can:

  • Send a text message command to receive text message replies regarding the balance of your savings, checking, certificates and loans.
  • Enroll in e-Alerts and receive notices regarding account balances, electronic deposits, withdrawals, or when a payment is due.


Text Banking Commands:

The following are Text Banking command examples and their responses. You can also access a list of these commands via a link in online banking during the Text Banking enrollment process. The following text commands can be sent to 46247 to access your account information:

For users with one account number:

  • BAL – Receive the balances for up to three savings or checking accounts
  • BAL {account suffix} – Receive the balance for a specific share on your account. The 3-digit account suffix is located on your statement, inside It’s Me 24/7 or by using the sample list of common account suffixes below. For example, text BAL 140 to receive the balance of your Rewards Checking.
  • STOP – turns off all text banking

For users with multiple account numbers:

  • BAL {account number} – Receive balances for up to three savings or checking accounts under a specific account number. This feature can be set up within It’s Me 24/7.
  • BAL {account number}{account suffix} – Receive the balance for a specific account suffix under a specific account. This feature is set up within It’s Me 24/7.
  • STOP {account number} – Turns off text banking for a specific account

Common Account Suffixes

  • 000 – Main Savings
  • 100 – Rewards Basic Checking
  • 120 – Rewards Silver Checking
  • 130 – Business Checking
  • 140 – Rewards Plus Checking
  • 150 – Rewards Plus Checking
  • 155 – Reloadable Debit Card
  • 200 – Surplus Shares


One-Way Text Alerts:

You can set up one-way Text alerts via the e-Alert Subscriptions page, and create alerts similar to your standard e-Alerts.

  • Account balance
  • Notification of an ACH deposit or withdrawal
  • Notification that a loan payment is due
  • E-Notice notification


How much will this cost:

Text Banking is offered to members for FREE, however your mobile phone carrier may charge you standard text messaging fees. Please check with your mobile phone carrier if you aren’t sure what fees apply when you send and receive text messages. When enrolling, you will need to choose an account for Fees to be assessed from, however because this service is being offered for FREE, you will not have any funds withdrawn from your account.


How to get started:

  • Once you’ve logged into It’s Me 24/7, you can enroll in Text Banking by hovering over the “Go Mobile” button on the toolbar. Click Text Banking to access the enrollment form.
  • Choose a nickname for the account, accept the Terms & Conditions and select an account. Please note, TFCU does not charge for this service and you will not have any fees withdrawn from your account. Then click submit to complete enrollment.
  • Once enrollment is completed, you will be brought to a screen where you can enroll phone numbers. Click “Add One Now” to add your phone number.
  • Enter the phone number and click “Send Code Now”. Once you’ve received the verification code, enter it and click “Enroll Phone”
  • You can now text BAL to 46247 to receive your balances!
