TFCU’s core goals are complimentary to AFCU’s, so it just made sense to merge with this credit union. TFCU is a well-capitalized, well-established financial institution. TFCU’s existing footprint is also well positioned to service the existing entirety of the AFCU membership base.
All employees will remain with the Credit Union to meet member needs and the same friendly faces will continue to serve you.
The President/CEO of the combined credit union will be Nelson Tavares, the current CEO of TFCU. The manager of the AFCU branch and all of the existing employees will retain their positions.
The combined credit union will be about $370 million in assets with over 20,000 members.
Your account number will remain the same provided that a duplicate does not exist in the current TFCU system, otherwise we will do our best to provide a similar account number to you. Your account will still be insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
Your debit card will work at the time of the merger until data has been converted over to TFCU. At that time, you will receive a new Visa® Debit Card with the TFCU logo.
